Vulnerability Alert - Smart TV - Spy On You

If you are one of those Smart TV owners, you may have heard already that someone can hack your TV and use it to spy on you. Haven't heard of it before?! Now you have and the only redeeming thing about the previous hack is that it required hackers physical access to your Smart TV. That poses an entirely different problem together.

This year, the vulnerability is now even more problematic. Smart TVs can be hacked even without having physical access to your the hardware. It uses the DVB-T signal (this is the signal that is used for Digital TV broadcasting, there is another Digital TV broadcasting specification) to break into and send commands to your Smart TV.

In the embedded video below is a proof of concept attack. Watch it to understand what it can possibly do to your Smart TV.

Please watch the video to really understand. We don't know how else to tell the problem, the video explains it best.

Desired Outcome

A compaint from Smart TV owners to manufacturers and brand owners to demand that they establish better security measures in their products.

Attack Example - ClickJacking+Spoofing - UI Redress - Trusted User Interface

ClickJacking and Spoofing Attack Example - Trusted User Interface attack. It used to be that the most common operating system and browser being targeted for this kind of attack is Windows and IE. The underlying reason was that Windows has more users and Internet Explorer was basically File Explorer having a different user interface. Today, the attack surface is wider and much more complicated to notice. The screenshot posted here is a combination of a User Interface (UI) spoofing from a ClickJack.
